As I saw this cartoon yesterday I wondered why it resonated as it did in my mind. Today I remember.

The year was 2001 and it was the day after the attack on 9/11 when someone moved through my command and handed a very select few a sticker for their employee badges that stated that they were essential personnel. These were the elite who could be admitted in the event of a potential catastrophe. I was not one of the select few, which mattered to me not a jot.

A couple of days later an institution at SPAWAR that had long ago ended any useful legitimate purpose was reborn and the Y2K War Room was resurrected as the SPAWARSYSCOM Command Center and your humble scribe was duly hunted down by the elite and made one of the two SPAWARSYSCOM Command Duty Officers. It would be my humble task to do many horrible things to people from 2300 until 0800 every night from now until the end of the War on Terror.

Naturally, this was not punishment enough. I reported for my first night of duty without bothering to go home and even worked in my own space for awhile the next morning before heading home to Solana Beach where I lived. Late that night your happy, go-lucky scribe attempted to report for the midwatch and presented himself at the main/only open gate to the Old Town Campus where I was barred from entry by the guards because, wait for it..... I did not have a little sticker on my badge that declared me to be "essential."

I'm pretty sure that if I'd been in my right mind and thought it important to pay attention to stupid things like that I would simply have nodded my head in agreement, turned my car around and headed to the bars in Del Mar home to bed. 'That's what they want, that's what they get.' Of course, all my life, after making it a habit to learn the rules, I rarely ever played by them. Besides, I was supposed to be an adult now and wasn't I one of perhaps six people working at Old Town Campus wearing one of these things above my right pocket? I was.

The guards and I discussed it and we all decided that, just for a little while, I could be essential too.

The sphere is abuzz today wondering how Hillary and her Chief of Staff and girl Friday managed to send top secret information from classified stand-alone information networks to Hillary's unclassified email on her own private bathroom server. One man familiar with how JWICS and SIPRNET work, discussed how those information systems are maintained and posits that hard copy was used as the intermediate medium but I have a different idea.

The information on the screen of a SIPRNET or JWICS computer was simply photographed by one of Hillary's 3 primary criminal counterparts (Mills, Abedin or whossname) using a regular cell phone with a camera and a textgrabber application that automatically converts photo text into editable digital text and then, after all the TOP SECRET NOFORN//SCI CODEWORD was cropped off the tops and bottoms and the paragraph markings (TS/SCI) etc, were edited out, the text was emailed to Hillary's private server.

So, the questions of the day are:

1. FBI, you have the emails that were sent to Hillary's server and so you know who sent them. WHO SENT THEM? Why aren't we reading all their names in the press as subjects of an ongoing investigation into a massive breach of national security?

2. FBI, you have the names of the people who transmitted TOP SECRET information. Have you demanded access to all of their information systems, cell phones, computers, iPads, laptops, etc and run you little probes over their surfaces beagling out all TOP SECRET, SCI, SAP, SECRET etc references?

3. FBI, if not, why not? Just how massively corrupt and blind do you have to be to not follow up on all the people who were emailing Hillary TOP SECRET information over the regular unencrypted internet?

Quelle surprise. The most profoundly racist bigots in North America have penned a manifesto with certain demands.

We as a College-defined "high risk," "low income," "disadvantaged" community should not have to carry the burden of deconstructing the white supremacist, patriarchal, capitalist system that we took no part in creating, yet is so deeply embedded in the soil upon which this institution was built.

If you bother to read their selfish and greedy screed, you can't  help but be struck by how Oberlin has managed to both attract and miseducate an entire class of people that you wouldn't want to work with, work for, or hire. They are the dimmest of the dim and call to mind a previous era of unrealized graft, corruption and soul-destroying idiocy where people sincerely thought they could 'organize' the fruit pickers and demand higher wages and better living quarters and yet remained insensible to the simple fact that as long as the border was open it would continue to draw endless hordes of people who would work for peanuts and live in hovels because it was still better than where they came from.

A long time, a very long time ago as cats reckon time, I was born, in the dark, in a little town in Bavaria. I made my entrance, without drama, at 2305 and soon after, left Germany for the beaches before finishing up here in MetroParkCentralis. Since it was my day, we crossed the river and headed to our estate in the country. The journey was difficult and there were many obstacles on the way.

They have struck on a novel way of getting to the very core of what will actually enrich their student's lives and lead to greater success in their future. PCC has found one of the many keys that often lead to success but unlike their passionate devotion to slavishly reading and following every word of Alinsky, Orwell and Hitler, the young socialist pioneers of Portland are welded to the philosophy of deconstructing whiteness because, power, success, wealth, stuff.

Whiteness is a state of consciousness, often invisible, shaping how white people view themselves and others and thus perpetuating ignorance throughout communities. Cultural racism is founded in the belief that "whiteness" is the universal...and allows one to think and speak as if Whiteness described and defined the world. The meaning of whiteness is historical and has shifted over time​.

Color me a cultural racist because I think the good people of Europe are rediscovering that the spearhead of monomaniacal fanatics from a very different culture, is detrimental to European cultures. Cultures are different and some are successful and others are the most dismal failures. You can easily scope out which one you prefer to live in by observing where people are moving to and away from.

The funny thing about Portland Community College, is that it has hit the nail precisely on the head. America was created, primarily, by people who were either expelled from Europe or who left in the hope of a brighter and better future in the new world, where they expected that hard work, personal accountability, and responsibility coupled with faith, or at least a sincere desire to make money, would leave them better off than those who remained behind stuck in the miserable broken down remnants of feudalism.

If PCC was really interested in improving student outcomes, they would study the beliefs, values, behaviors, habits and attitudes which result in the creation and retention of wealth, power and privilege and attempt to replicate them to the very best of their ability. I'll help them out with the syllabus. They could learn all about whiteness at aesop's fables.

Although these two theses seem to contradict each other, yet, if they should be found to fit together they would serve our purpose beautifully.

I find it interesting that Martin Luther's words, written in Latin, transcribed in German and finally shown here in English, are more clearly understood by the people who still read them than are the words spoken by another man named Martin Luther less than lifetime ago. That may be part of it since we no longer measure a lifetime at 3 score and ten but leave it to be set by the whim of stone cold killers who walk the streets unchecked by any kind of christian morality.

It would be a mistake to consider what we have today as any kind of war on faith because an actual war requires both sides to show up to the contest and fight it out. I think it is a damned shame that the christian churches have mostly left the field and retired their faith, traditions and the word of God. As you look upon it today it is really hard to believe that men of faith once went to be burned at the stake encouraging each other on their way, "Play the man, Master Ridley; we shall this day light such a candle, by God's grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out."

As christian faith has perished in the West, so I think has perished the notion that, "we can all just get along." As I watch from the heights it looks like the state of race relations has never been this dire at any time in the country's history. Even the surface is marred and battered and nobody at all delves into the actual depths below the surface to look at the roots of the matter because that is treated as a great crime that cannot be endured or forgiven and woe to the man or woman who attempts an honest conversation on the topic. Better to be Hugh Latimer or Master Ridley, for the end is the same even if the flames only wither and burn the reputation of the daredevil who attempted it.

It's really a shame that there is no shining city on a hill or peaceful village in the valley that one can point to and exclaim, there live and work blacks and other races in great peace and harmony where each treats his neighbor with respect and dignity. Perhaps some day, when people are judged by their character and nothing else, we will find a small village, maybe well off the highway, where all of the people are what we, in a better world, would have chosen to be, people who owe no man anything, but love one another.

I apologize to all the pro-life and pro-marriage and pro-Second Amendment New Yorkers who were told by Gov. Cuomo that they have no place in New York because that’s not who New Yorkers are. I apologize to all of the small businesses who’ve been driven out of New York City by crushing taxes and regulations. 

I apologize to all of the African-American children who Mayor de Blasio tried to throw out of their charter schools instead of providing a lifeline to the American dream. And I apologize to all the cops and the firefighters and 9/11 heroes who had no choice but to stand and turn their backs on Mayor de Blasio because Mayor de Blasio over and over again stands with the looters and criminals rather than the brave men and women of blue.

I'm not sure I want a leader who gives in to sullen liberal demands...

On the other hand, I don't want to be a chronicle of the endless stupidity and misery inflicted on us by the combined forces of ignorance and tyranny.

The landline here has rung four times in 30 minutes with robo-callers and telemarketers and I've had enough so I just nuked the phone. That was easy.

SUPERVISORY PILOT IN OVERALL COMMAND

I see that the Air Force went and announced that they are going to open up their Remote Operated Drone program to enlisted pilots. Being the Air Force, they have decided to open up just one tiny, unarmed, sorta useless sliver of the vast drone armada to this splendid opportunity.

Some are concerned that enlisted 'pilots' for what are 100% autonomous flying drones that take off and even land themselves, won't have the necessary gravitas to 'fly' missions in combat. I admire the all-around vincible stupidity of the kind of people that are concerned about that.

After all, if push came to shove and it looked really dicey up there in no-man's land, the drone pilot could always look across the room and ask a real, honest-to-God, supervisory pilot-in-overall command to join the formation and take over. And that minor godling in human form could wrestle him or herself away from cup of coffee number 22 of the day and wander across the room and say,
"what's up, doc?"

You know what's funny? That there really are people who think it takes a piece of paper and being an officer and a gentleman to fly an airplane. That's funny.

One of the good guys in N7 came up with this design as Naval Coastal Warfare Forces were getting renamed and reorganized by Navy Expeditionary Combat Command. I laughed and told Eric it would never fly even though it pretty much captured the sentiments of all the people there at the time. I can only wonder at what changed when they were merged with Riverine Group ONE a couple of years after I left. The design seems so inappropriate now. It's broken.

I'm sure Eric is even more unhappy about the recent events involving Group ONE than I am.

MAKING THINGS HARDER THAN THEY HAVE TO BE

I daresay the admirals in Norfolk and Bahrain are asking today just who approved this and what kind of risk assessment was used when generating the Frago to transit two boats from Kuwait to Bahrain. I'm equally sure that they'll want to know who was providing the adult leadership.

I know these boats have satellite radios. I know it because all of our boats have satellite radios. We've been continuously operating patrol boats in that area since 2001.

What I hate the most about this inept and stupidly executed plan is that it just made doing everything all that much harder because now every level of command has to convince the level above that it is not just complying with reasonable risk management strategy, it now has to go into infinite detail about how it has analyzed every possible risk to future missions and how each risk is mitigated or avoided by active staff planning.

I used to work with these people. In fact, I used to work with these people at every level of staff and command for over 20 years and I never heard a more succinct and astute analysis of the dimwittedness of some of them who struggle every day to "Make things harder than they have to be."*

So, congratulations you f@cksticks** at CTG56, you continued a horrible tradition by making things harder than they have to be. If I recall correctly, the last time we had anything like this happen it was the Commodore himself who ordered that all truck movements had to have dismounted road guides to make sure they didn't run over anything. Yes, you guessed it, that stupid insane policy continued right up until one of the truck drivers ran over his road guide with a 5 ton truck.

In addition to the now mandatory retraining and certification of all boat OICs, we'll see requirements heaped onto every task to ensure that they are now idiot proofed through the concentrated application of staff planning, paperwork and close personal oversight. You thought Operational Risk Management paperwork was a pain in the ass? You ain't seen nothing.

No, I won't be surprised if the after action report lays the blame at the feet of someone who thought miles and kilometers were the same thing and couldn't convert or even understand the difference between miles and kilometers.

I had never thought, before the events of the New Year in Europe, that all of the world's 'respected' media were such slaves to their socialist ideology. The thing I most despise about Clinton is not her evil nature, not her willingness to bayonet the wounded, not even her vicious morals, no. The thing I really loathe about her is her massive incompetence. She is incompetent at every single thing she does.

She graduated Yale Law School and failed the DC Bar Exam and then covered up about it for 30 years to friends and family. Incompetent.

She was a staff lawyer for the House Judiciary Committee during the Nixon impeachment and she was fired.

“Because she was a liar,” Zeifman said in an interview last week. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”

Federal and Congressional investigators have issued subpoenas for the documents since 1994, and the White House has said it did not have them. The originals disappeared from the Rose Law Firm, in which Mrs. Clinton was a partner, shortly before Mr. Clinton took office.

Only a fool could find any virtue in Clinton as either a Senator for the State of New York or as Secretary of State. With the fool deciding to deliberately circumvent the law on government retention of government files and communications from before her first day in office as Secretary of State until long after she left, she maintained her own email servers with highly classified files on unsecure private servers and then she took the next extraordinary and stupid incompetent step. She had her people review every single one of those emails and purge all the ones she thought might point giant fingers of blame at her incompetence, malfeasance, treason and other high crimes and misdemeanors and sent the ones we see now back to the State Department to become part of the national historic record of her term in office. The idiots couldn't even manage to purge all the classified emails which surely must have been high on the list of things to be shredded and destroyed.

Those idiots are the ones that failed to redact all the incriminating email evidence and guilt, which they were paid to do.

As with the Rose Law files, all Hillary had to do was hire competent subordinates to purge the files and competently oversee them in that task. She did neither. In addition to being a dishonest, vindictive liar, she's incompetent and her people are incompetent.

TransCanada said Wednesday that it would seek $15 billion in damages over the Obama administration's decision to cancel the company's Keystone XL pipeline project.The company is taking the unusual step of suing through the North American Free Trade Agreement, calling the decision "arbitrary and unjustified."

Imagine, if we had just let the pipeline join the thousands of miles of other oil pipelines in America and pour oil into American refineries and then achieved total energy independence from the Middle East. Now, we're out the money in court costs and then we'll lose $15 billion that could have built another high school in the LAUSD, or purchased a half dozen more F35s, or hired an additional 40 civil rights attorneys to enforce Title IX everywhere, or we could have built a couple of bridges over the Kwai River.

But no. We let idiots get in the way of common sense and practicality. Won't we all be laughing our butts off in 10 years when we have to buy that crude oil on the spot market and transport it to America to be refined. They say opportunity only knocks once. They never said that if left unanswered it comes back with lawyers.

We know the ground truth that escaped all those woohooing gaia worriers. It was never a question about leaving the oil unburned in Canada. You and I know that one way or another that oil was going to be refined and burned and if not by us, then by someone else. The greens never see the lowest common denominator in an argument; probably because they are it. They are forever, like the Union Carbide of Bhopal, an entity that can always make things worse.
